As a Test Engineer, you will excel in documenting runbooks, detailing and documenting the necessary test/validation steps for executing migration scenarios, including timings, dependencies, and critical attention points. The candidate will be reporting on a regular basis on the results of the testing and migration. You should also have experience in normalising and comparing large datasets efficiently, as well as assisting in UAT testing of a new platform
Key Responsibilities:
- Testing Migration Strategies: Create, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans for migration strategies, ensuring all scenarios can be thoroughly validated
- Runbook Documentation: Create detailed runbooks outlining the steps for executing migration scenarios, highlighting timings, dependencies, and critical attention points.
- Test Preparation: Ensuring necessary conditions for execution of migration testing are met
- Validating Dry Runs: Conduct and validate dry runs of migration scenarios to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Data Normalisation and Comparison: Normalise and compare large datasets efficiently, ensuring consistency between the source and target environments
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, project managers, and business stakeholders, to ensure alignment of testing efforts with overall project goals.
- Progress Reporting: Develop and maintain progress reports, keeping stakeholders informed about testing milestones, challenges, and solutions
- UAT Testing Support: Assist in the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of the new platform, depending on the speed of the learning curve adaptation
Required experience:
- Proven experience in testing migration strategies and validating dry runs of migration scenarios
- Recent experience in the financial services sector. Transaction banking experience will be considered a plus
- Strong documentation skills, particularly in creating detailed runbooks
- Experience in normalising and comparing large datasets efficiently.
