Infrastructure Engineer (On-Site)

My Client is looking to recruit an infrastructure engineer to provide on-site support to a valued customer in the financial sector. The successful candidate will support the client’s internal IT department, who play a critical role in supporting the staff and ensuring seamless operations

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Support and Troubleshooting:

  • Respond promptly to escalation support requests from staff.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to infrastructure, servers, and desktop systems.
  • Collaborate with 1st/2nd line support and other teams to ensure timely incident resolution.

 

Infrastructure Management:

  • Monitor backup technologies to safeguard critical data.
  • Administer Windows servers and desktops, ensuring smooth operations (2016/2019/2022).

 

Microsoft 365 and Cloud Services:

  • Manage Microsoft 365 applications, including Exchange Online and SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with Azure services, being able to configure & maintain resources present.

 

Virtualization and Remote Access:

  • Knowledge of managing VMware and Citrix environments.
  • Troubleshoot remote access issues for staff.

 

Passion for Learning and Development:

  • Stay informed about IT trends and best practices.
  • Pursue relevant certifications and training opportunities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance technical skills.

 

 

 

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in an IT Infrastructure Support role.
  • Proven expertise in Windows server administration (2016/2019/2022).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for Windows desktop systems.
  • Passion for IT
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer service-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively in a professional environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving technologies.

Shifts

  • Shift work plays a critical part in this role, with operating hours being between 7:00-19:00
  • The engineer will be part of a rota that sees them work for an 8 hour period.
  • Exceptions can be made at the discretion of the shift team/manager as long as the shift pattern is covered at all times.
  • Weekend work may be required in some circumstances although this would be managed separately, through either overtime or time-in-lieu.
