Our client, a well-known bank, requires a DevOps Engineer to join their Infrastructure Engineering team. You will contribute to the team’s maturing responsibilities for the development and management of ‘infrastructure-as-code ’-focused automation services, concentrating on the use of agile tools such as Terraform, Packer, Powershell and Azure DevOps.
This is an opportunity to work with a small team of highly skilled infrastructure engineering and automation specialists, bringing the benefit of your infrastructure operations knowledge and using your engineering/automation experience to help design, implement and support modern IT services.
Responsibilities Include:
- Defining automation standards, tooling and processes that will help continue the drive for the adoption of an ‘automation-first’ approach
- Working alongside software development and testing teams to provide infrastructure automation development and support services
- Optimise, monitor, maintain and improve all infrastructure automation services, delivering efficient, reliable, and secure services that follow industry best practices.
- Contribute to the delivery of business projects involving new or updated infrastructure automation services, including working with both on-premises and cloud-based systems.
- Excellent operational experience (5+ years) of Windows-based on-premise and cloud hosting platforms encompassing a broad range of hands-on infrastructure/networking/server/cloud knowledge
- Highly proficient in managing and troubleshooting issues with vNets, VMware, release pipelines and App Services
Skills:
- Exposure to/hands-on experience of the following technologies is preferable but not essential (being a quick learner is essential)
- Scripting (PowerShell)
- Configuration management (DSC/Ansible)
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Packer)
- CI/CD Pipelines (Azure DevOps)
- Source Control (Git)
- Public Cloud (Azure)
The position is inside IR35 and requires 3 days per week as on average in the City of London
