With over 40 years of experience partnering with SMEs and multinational organisations, Church International Ltd was honoured to be selected by Fidelity Investments, one of the world’s leading investment providers, to support the development of their UK data centre consolidation project. Relocating physical property and associated data is a complex and challenging endeavour. The success of such projects depends heavily on the expertise and capabilities of the people involved. This is where our strengths lie. Our Managing Director, Brian Fitzgerald, was brought on board to collaborate closely with key stakeholders at Fidelity Investments to identify the specific manpower requirements needed to ensure the successful delivery of this project. Following a comprehensive analysis, it was determined that a specialised team was necessary to create a strategy for a new data centre build, design the infrastructure, and physically install the hardware.
The project demanded the addition of 6 Project Managers, 4 Solution Architects, and 10 Engineers. An added layer of complexity arose from the need to construct two separate data centres in different parts of the country. Once the requirements were clearly defined, Brian and his team undertook a methodical market mapping process to identify individuals with the requisite skills and experience to deliver this project. Recruiting talent with such specialised skills is challenging under normal circumstances, but this project was further complicated by the remote locations of the data centres, which were not close to major cities. However, our well-established reputation in the IT sector and our extensive network of contacts gave us a distinct advantage. We knew where to find these talented individuals, many of whom, though not actively seeking new opportunities, trusted that when we reached out, it was with a role worth considering. As a result, we were able to quickly present Fidelity Investments with a strong selection of highly experienced candidates.
After successfully meeting this initial goal, our work was far from over. The next phase required us to establish a flexible workforce that could be mobilised as and when needed by the client. While some might have turned to outsourcing for such a requirement, Fidelity Investments chose to partner with us precisely because we could manage this process entirely in-house. Our highly experienced HR, legal, and compliance teams were instrumental in this phase, creating the necessary schemes of work and managing all associated administration, including payroll processes, on the client’s behalf. This comprehensive service provided Fidelity with the peace of mind that all personnel-related tasks were being handled by experts, allowing them to focus on their core business activities. This complex project managed and delivered by Brian and our dedicated team, was completed on time, reinforcing our reputation for reliability and excellence. At Church International Ltd, we engage with our clients as partners, not just service providers. We listen, adapt, and implement solutions that work. Above all, we become a trusted extension of their business.
