Backed by the UK Government, the Cyber Essentials scheme sets out a baseline of technical controls to help organisations protect themselves against common online security threats, such as phishing attacks, malware, ransomware, and network attacks. The scheme assesses an organisation’s cyber defences based on five key cyber security controls: secure internet connection, device and software security, secure access control to data and services, malware and virus protection, and effective patch management. Implemented correctly, these five technical controls can protect against 80% of common cyberattacks.
To obtain our Cyber Essentials Plus certification, Church International underwent a rigorous and hands-on technical audit conducted by an independent auditor from the IASME Consortium. The audit examined and verified that we have the correct controls in place to protect our organisation from attack, providing reassurance to our customers that we take our cyber security seriously.
