16th December 2016 Church News.
Don’t know about you but I have been doing the usual mad dash to get everything ready for Christmas. Never seem to have enough time to balance the work social side with the preparations to host Christmas festivities… yet again. It’s very easy to lose sight of the fact that, in amongst all the increased activity and stress levels, I am, in reality, incredibly fortunate to be looking forward to spending time eating, drinking and definitely being merry with work colleagues, family and friends over the next few weeks. The reality for people who find themselves homeless over the festive period is so very different. I find it hard to imagine just how very bleak, stressful and insecure life must be for them.
We decided a couple of years ago to support a charity, both as a company and individually, called Crisis at Christmas who help bring a little festive cheer and support to the homeless across the UK. The work they do, alongside other charities supporting the homeless, is invaluable not just in providing help to so many people for a few days over the Christmas period but in supporting them to positively change their lives for the better in the future.
If you would like to find out more about the work that Crisis do, not just at Christmas, but the rest of the year too and maybe donating some time and/or money to spreading some festive cheer please click on the link:
Everyone at Church international wishes you a very happy Christmas and a very peaceful, healthy and joyous 2017.
